Mastering Breath Awareness - An "MBA"
in Managing Stress
Stress
in the workplace is regarded as a common occupational hazard for
Canadian workers. Statistics Canada estimates that over $12 billion
is lost annually due to workplace stress.
This
workshop is based on Larry's experience of the stress he has encountered
in the workplace as a corporate trainer and his desire to provide
a natural, safe and effective method for managing stress.
It
draws on his experience of over 25 years of Zen meditation practice
and employs the breath awareness techniques used in Zen practice
to help individuals develop awareness, balance, concentration
and well-being as they juggle the demanding priorities of their
personal and professional lives.
This
practical, experiential workshop covers the following topics:
The
relationship of proper breathing to physical, mental, emotional
and spiritual well-being.
The importance of breathing from the core and why Zen masters
teach their students to do so.
How to find and breathe from the core.
How to turn off the clutter and clatter in your mind and experience
the silence and peace that is present in its depths.
Using breath awareness to live in the present and how living
in the present helps you to banish worry and stress.
How to become aware of and release the stress that accumulates
in the various areas of the body using a Body Awareness process.
